What is Kynren?
Kynren – An Epic Tale of England is an award-winning live-action spectacular that tells the story of 2,000 years of English history in just 90 incredible minutes. Performed by more than 1,000 volunteer cast and crew members, the production features stunning special effects, cavalry charges, Viking invasions, Roman soldiers, medieval knights, steam locomotives, boats, fireworks and breathtaking choreography on a massive 7.5-acre stage. The 2026 season runs from 18 July until 12 September, with evening performances on selected Fridays and Saturdays.
New for 2026 – Kynren: The Storied Lands
The biggest news for 2026 is the opening of Kynren – The Storied Lands, the UK’s first live-action show park.
Unlike a traditional theme park filled with rides, The Storied Lands immerses visitors in history, myth and legend through spectacular live performances and interactive experiences. Included within your day are five major live attractions, including:
- Land of the Vikings – Experience a bustling Viking settlement before witnessing an action-packed battle featuring warriors, fire, ships and dramatic storytelling.
- The Legend of the Wear – A thrilling lakeside spectacular inspired by the famous Lambton Worm legend, complete with water stunts, special effects and daring performances.
- The Lost Feather – A breathtaking bird show featuring hundreds of magnificent birds flying overhead in a purpose-built arena.
- Fina – An exhilarating horse stunt spectacular showcasing incredible horsemanship, jousting and medieval action.
- Victorian Imaginarium – Wander through beautifully recreated Victorian streets filled with characters, surprises and interactive experiences that transport you back in time. (Kynren – An Epic Tale of England)
The park is open Tuesday to Sunday from 18 July until 12 September 2026, making it easy to combine with the famous evening Kynren show. (Kynren – An Epic Tale of England)
